Denise Maki

Denise is a Registered Kinesiologist licensed with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario and is a graduate of the University of Waterloo Kinesiology program. She has over 25 years of experience in the field of rehabilitation. Prior to opening Kinnect to Wellness in 2011, she held positions in ability management, exercise prescription and intervention, pain management and functional assessment.
Denise has continued her education in the field of kinesiology and holds the following certifications; Stott trained Pilates Reformer, Bonefit (osteoporosis management program), Level 1 and 2 FMS (Functional Movement Systems), Level 1 of Building the Ultimate Back with Dr. Stu McGill, Level 1 and 2 of Athletic Sustainability and Functional Training with Dr. Craig Liebenson, Pilates for Neurological Conditions, and RockTape Taping.
Denise is passionate about solving movement based musculoskeletal imbalances and designing exercise programs to restore function. She is committed to the concept of “Exercise as Medicine” for rehabilitation and wellness programming. She enjoys movement and keeps herself active; hiking, skiing, biking, climbing and camping in the vast wilderness of Ontario.
Lyne Lemieux
Registered Physiotherapist & Co-owner
MHScPT, BSc, FCAMPT
Lyne is a CAMPT-certified physiotherapist specializing in orthopedics and sports injury rehabilitation. She is also the co-owner of Kinnect to Wellness. Lyne obtained her Masters’s degree in Physiotherapy form the University of Ottawa in 2009. She has devoted her career to understanding and treating musculoskeletal injuries and became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (CAMPT) in 2018.
In addition to her CAMPT certification, Lyne has also completed the following post-graduate training; Kinetacore: Functional Dry Needling, Shift: Concussion Management Program, A World of Hurt: Chronic Pain Management and Schroth Method: Conservative Scoliosis Management. Lyne is a firm advocate for educating her patients to empower them to understand their injury/condition, and therefore enable them to have successful outcomes for recovery.
Chelsea Adair
Registered Kinesiologist & Ergonomist
BScHK, MHK, RKin
Chelsea is a registered Kinesiologist licensed with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph in 2018 and a Masters of Human Kinetics from Laurentian University in 2020. Chelsea initially embarked on a career in ergonomics working primarily in the mining industry and was also given the opportunity to develop her rehabilitation skills in a clinical setting.
Chelsea is certified in Mental Health First Aid, Functional Capacity Evaluations and Level 1 Concussion Rehabilitation. She is excited to continue to her educational journey by seeking out assessment and various movement-based training courses. When she is not at work, you’ll find Chelsea out hiking with her dog, doing yoga or playing one of her favourite sports with friends.
Carlina D’Aoust-Messier
Registered Kinesiologist
BASc, CSEP-CPT
Carlina D’Aoust-Messier is a registered Kinesiologist licensed with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. She began her educational career at Algonquin College where she studied Fitness and Health Promotion, then continued her education by obtaining a Personal Training certification through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP) in 2014. After working as a personal trainer for a short time she decided to complete a Bachelor of Arts and Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Guelph-Humber in 2017.
When Carlina is not at work outside the home, she works in the home raising her three children, staying active as a family in the many parks and trails in Sudbury. She even finds time exercise at the gym to work on her own fitness goals!
Julie Malette
Registered Physiotherapist
PT., B.Sc.P.T., C.A.F.CI
Julie graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2005 and eagerly returned to her hometown of Sudbury to start her practice. She has worked in a variety of settings, with extensive experience in the treatment of both surgical and non-surgical orthopedic conditions. Julie is quite knowledgeable having taken a multitude of courses in manual therapy through both the Ontario Physiotherapy Association and APTEI, and is also certified through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. She has also worked for many years providing home care services to community patients and is a registered authorizer with the Assistive Devices Program.
